Recent health studies reveal that three out of four people in the United States have had some type of vision correction which could include glasses, contact lenses, and corrective surgery. Impaired vision is one of the most widespread disabilities in the world. The map above shows the overall percentage of the U.S. population that wears prescription glasses by state. NOTE: This map only includes those wearing glasses and does not include those who wear contacts or who have had corrective surgery.
