South Central York County
The South Central York region is located on the southern end of York County, bordering the state of Maryland. It encompasses 14 of the county’s 72 municipalities including: Jacobus Borough, Loganville Borough, Seven Valleys Borough, Springfield Township, North Hopewell Township, Winterstown Borough, Glen Rock Borough, Shrewsbury Township, Shrewsbury Borough, Railroad Borough, New Freedom Borough, Stewarstown Borough, and Hopewell Township. In 2015, the total population in the South Central York region was 37,495. There were 14,278 households and 10,751 families with a median household income of $71,813 and a per capita income of $32,235. There were 2,178 businesses employing approximately 9,453 individuals. This area has been identified as a key area for distribution because of I-83 and the ease of accessing the Baltimore market.
