The National Automobile Dealers Association's (NADA) most recent Market Beat publication stated that there were 1.1 million light-vehicle sales in January 2015. Light-vehicle sales were down 23.5% from December 2014, but up 13.7% from January 2014. The seasonally adjusted rate for January 2015 was 16.6 million units. Car sales made up 44.9% of the market share during this time period (down from a market share of 47.3% in January 2014), while light-truck sales made up 55.1% of the market share. The report also indicated that the company that led in light-vehicle sales in January 2015 was General Motors with a market share of 17.7%.
